Faisal Khan graduated as an engineer in 1974 from Cambridge University and joined IBM where he avidly learnt both the basis of technology and how to build businesses around technology. In 1990 he was head-hunted to join the board of a software start-up with an enterprise solution for insurance companies.

Following the trade sale of the business, as a technology entrepreneur, he invested in and grew several other software businesses and latterly became chairman of an incubator mobile app business, helping it to formulate a strategy, raise angel and institutional investment and exiting through a US private equity firm.

Throughout his career, Faisal has focussed on the business implications and benefits of technology rather than the technology itself. He is now chairman and investor in Zabardast, a unique QSR Indian cuisine concept that has grown to 7 stores, including Bluewater Shopping Centre. At Zabardast the vision is to combine a deep understanding of new technologies with a people intensive food business and thereby create a new operating model.
