Sophia Worth

Researcher

Sophia is a Researcher at the ODI, currently working on our Data-Centric AI programme. She has also recently started a PhD at King’s College London exploring the barriers to ethical data practices, which she is undertaking while working part-time at the ODI.

Before starting her PhD, Sophia spent time working in the ODI’s Research, Policy and Impact teams. She joined us in 2022 following her Master’s degree at University College London in the Department of Geography, where she wrote her MSc thesis about the application of data ethics to carbon accounting.

It was during her BSc that Sophia first developed her passion for the significance of data and quantification practices, particularly how ensure different interests are fairly represented in data-enabled work. She studied an interdisciplinary Liberal Arts and Sciences degree, where she focused on Biomedicine and Public Health, with electives in Philosophy.
