Matthew Kilcoyne
Senior Policy Adviser
Matthew Kilcoyne is Senior Policy Adviser at the Open Data Institute. He delivers public policy work in the UK and EU, and helps with efforts to work with governments to improve data ecosystems and data policy.
Matthew has worked as a political risk and trade credit underwriter, a trade and investment adviser for the Government of Catalonia, as well as having been Deputy Director of the free market think tank the Adam Smith Institute and Director at the Initiative for Free Trade. He also sat on the UK Government's Strategic Trade Advisory Group for four years advising on ongoing trade negotiations.
He has written for the Times, Telegraph, Mail, Sun, ConservativeHome, CapX, and appeared on Sky News, the BBC, ITV among others.
Matthew holds a BA in PPE from the University of York, and an MSc in Financial Services Management from the University of South Wales.
