Thomas Carey-Wilson

Researcher

Thomas Carey-Wilson is a researcher who joined the ODI in 2021. Prior to this, Thomas held various client-facing sales roles, including lead generation for global businesses in the digital tech sector. He earned a Master’s degree in Public Administration (MPA) with a focus on Digital Technologies and Policy, where he explored his interest in the geopolitics of technical standardisation for emerging digital technologies.

At the ODI, Thomas has contributed to research on the value of emerging digital technologies and the development of interoperability in data governance between countries. His primary interest lies in how international bodies and national governments influence the creation and implementation of standards for transformative digital innovations. Currently, he is involved in the ODI's Data-centric AI program, where he is exploring data governance practices throughout the AI data lifecycle.
