Why embracing open data is just the first step in moving to a smart and shared transport ecosystem

Join us on Zoom at lunchtime for our regular ODI Fridays talks. Once you’ve signed up, we’ll send you the link to join.

The transport and mobility sector is moving to ‘account based’ services, rather than ticket-based. This means that more and more customer data is locked-away in back-end systems owned by a handful of large suppliers.

In this talk, Hayden Sutherland – a strategic consultant, transport and mobility data specialist and investor – will talk about the rational for sharing mobility customer account data and why the transport sector needs to work closely with other sectors. He will also talk about the work and purpose of The Open Transport Initiative.

This session is of particular interest to anyone who wants to understand what the future holds and why embracing Open Data initiatives is just the first step in moving to a smart / shared transport ecosystem.
