This lecture will share how the Tech Nation are approaching modern data teamwork, covering everything from the work pipeline to open data practices

Friday lunchtime lectures are for everyone and are free to attend. You bring your lunch, we provide tea and coffee, an interesting talk, and enough time to get back to your desk.

Tech Nation have been on a data journey. Over the past 12 months, the organisation’s insight team has grown four-fold, and so have the underlying data practices. This session will share how the Tech Nation are approaching modern data teamwork, covering everything from the work pipeline to open data practices. Don’t worry, this won’t be a boring talk on cultural change… Instead, the presenters will tell an honest and frank story on what they’ve learnt, and what is still a challenge.

About the speakers

Henri Egle Sorotos is a person who ‘does data and talks about it’. As Senior Insights Manager at Tech Nation, he is regularly found interrogating and writing about digital talent and skills, investment markets, tech clusters and the tech sectors of Britain. Prior to Tech Nation, he worked in a number of third sector research organisations as an all round data bod and researcher. Henri loves demystifying data science, digital talent & skills, transport systems and choral singing.

Lucy Cousins is a recent school leaver, having finished her A-levels 2 years ago. After leaving school she discovered the Code First Girls courses and developed a passion for programming. 8 months ago Lucy was on boarded as Tech Nation’s first and only data designer – a role involving front end JavaScript and data manipulation. She has since been the lead developer on the interactive data visualisations for the Tech Nation Report and other insights projects at Tech Nation.
