Dr. Rajat Shinde

Dr. Rajat Shinde is a Computer Scientist Level VI with NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center Office of Data Science and Informatics at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, Alabama, US. His work focuses on data-centric AI, machine learning for Earth observation, and open data infrastructure. He co-leads the ESA–NASA Multi-mission Algorithm and Analysis Platform (MAAP) data team and works on AI applications and model alignment for science and operational use. Rajat co-chairs the Earth-2 Working Group within the IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society (GRSS), advancing AI approaches for digital twins, and previously served as Vice President of the Open Source Geospatial Foundation (OSGeo), supporting open standards and reproducibility in geospatial data science and software.

Rajat is an ODI Fellow, working with the team on the research and development of the CitizenQuery Benchmark.
