Giannis Stoitsis

Giannis Stoitsis is an ODI Registered Trainer and an expert in developing and delivering technologies a) for data sharing, b) for data aggregation and c) for managing, discovering and visualizing data to support research and decision making in the agricultural and food sector.

Giannis holds a Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2002, and a MSc. and a Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Patras and National Technical University of Athens in 2004 and 2007, respectively. Giannis is an expert in developing and delivering technologies a) for data sharing, b) for data aggregation and c) for managing, discovering and visualizing data to support research and decision making in the agricultural and food sector. He has worked in several EU-funded, National and International initiatives that are related to the design and set up of data management, data processing and data sharing solutions. He is often invited to help organizations interested in setting up platforms and services based on open data and open source technologies such as the Food and Agricultural Organization of United Nations (FAO), the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), the  Institute of Development Studies (IDS) and the Michigan State University (MSU).
