Dr Darren Temple
Consultant
Darren is a consultant at the ODI, working with clients to facilitate their goals with open data. With a background in physics research and startup experience as a Python programmer, he also contributes to the scientific and technical direction of the ODI, and has particular interests in energy and the environment. Darren has a degree in physics from the University of Sheffield, and a PhD in plasma physics for nuclear fusion from Imperial College London. He has lived and worked in Japan and Canada, and has teaching experience from primary school level to university level.
Outside of work, Darren enjoys learning Japanese, learning anything techy, game design, and owning a guitar which occasionally even gets played.
