Carmen Ng

Carmen Ng is a responsible AI and intercultural AI ethics researcher affiliated with the Technical University of Munich. Her research (ACM FAccT, ACM CHI) bridges the gap between technical AI auditing and socio-cultural governance, evaluating how large language models align to users across globally-diverse contexts and designing organisational guardrails. Trained as a journalist from Hong Kong before moving into technology communications in Europe, she now works between AI research and facilitating responsible AI capacity-building in organisations. Her former collaborations include co-building educational resources on digital self determination with the Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University as a research sprint fellow, and co-mapping global AI policies as a research member for the Center for AI & Digital Policy. She is currently building AI East West, an applied collective exploring how AI systems interact with human context across cultures, languages, and lived experience.
