Data Ethics Professional

Imagine you are buying a car. You would want to know it is safe, right? The same standards should apply to AI. After all, AI can detect diseases, impact whether we get a loan or the outcome of a harvest. It has a tangible impact on people and the environment. If AI goes wrong, it might fail to detect diseases, deny loans or endanger a harvest.

Join Nadine Dammaschk to discover how risk assessment can be used to promote responsible AI and address harms early on in the development process. Nadine will share insights and lessons learnt from developing and testing a risk assessment procedure in Sub-Saharan Africa and Asia Pacific.

Additionally, Nadine will contextualise the practice of risk assessments within emerging AI regulations and auditing standards. While risk assessments can be an effective instrument to guide more responsible AI practices, they require further embedding into AI governance and assurance to unfold their potential.
