the data spectrum

Together we can enrich Canada’s open data ecosystem

The ODI is a non-profit company committed to advancing trust in data across the spectrum - from closed to shared to open data.

Canada has long been a leader in the global open data ecosystem, topping the leaderboard in the last iteration of the Open Data Barometer, which is why we’re delighted to be working with the Canadian Open Data Society. Our partnership will empower government officials, business leaders, and civil society representatives with the skills needed to use data for to create economic benefits and tackle real-world challenges using data.

Our experience in Canada is highlighted by several significant projects: providing strategic advice to Hydro Quebec, specialised training for Natural Resources Canada, and research in conjunction with The Open Contracting Partnership.
