The ODI is a non-profit with a mission to work with companies and governments to build an open, trustworthy data ecosystem
We work with a range of organisations, governments, public bodies and civil society to create a world where data works for everyone.
Data is everywhere. It can help us understand and address some of the biggest challenges we face globally, from helping tackle climate change to the early detection of diseases.
Philanthropy plays a vital role. Long-term, impact-focused funding can support work to improve the data practices of organisations, tackle challenges so that the data ecosystem works better, and develop research and evidence to demonstrate the impact of open access to data.
Opportunities for mission-led, catalytic funding exist across a range of social issues that the ODI is addressing, such as mental ill-health, the climate crisis and the global digital economy.
