Sara is a researcher working on the R&D programme at ODI. She is currently investigating how to boost international trade in data-enabled services and the use of agent based modelling in forming the policy that shapes the data economy.
She is interested in how the knowledge economy impacts society and how economic and social institutions define and shape innovation. She has a particular interest in our rapidly forming data infrastructure, its effect on socio-economic inequality and the role of an open approach as a possible positive force.
Previous to ODI, Sara worked as an economist at Shelter and the New Economics Foundation, specialising in housing and land policy and industrial strategy. In a past life she did research at CERN, contributing to the search for as yet elusive supersymmetric particles.
