The Open Transport Initiative

The Open Transport Initiative was set-up to create and support the adoption of Open Standards for sharing data across the transport & mobility sector.

Our role is to:

- Further the adoption of shared & interoperable (smart) data across all transport modes - Design, publish and manage the ONLY Application Programme Interfaces (APIs) specifications for transport account interoperability - Work with governments, local authorities, transport providers, Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) platforms, software vendors and other organisations to support the use of Open Standards

Described as "The Open Banking for Transport".

In the same way that the Open Banking standard brought huge change and customer benefits to the Financial Services industry… we believe the that the adoption of Open and interoperable shared data standards can do the same for the transport & mobility industry.:
