Businesses with formal data literacy plans are in the top 20% performing companies by return on sales. Data literacy is fundamental to help businesses innovate and make better decisions with data.
The UK government’s National Data Strategy, which aims to drive the UK in building a world-leading data economy while ensuring public trust in data use, recognises its importance in our society. But how do we benchmark data literacy, and discover what can be done to improve data literacy across an organisation?
Hosted by ODI experts, this webinar will introduce how we’ve started benchmarking data literacy in organisations, and how this is different from assessing data skills and competencies. As a result we now know that many existing training programmes focus too much on data skills, making it difficult for people to level up their data literacy. This can leave people lost, confused, and unable to connect skills to real world applications.
When is the webinar?
20th October , 2021, 14:00 – 14:25 (BST)

What is ODI Learning Month?
National Learning and Development Month is a global event celebrated every October, that encourages people to learn and build brand new skills. In support and celebration of this, the ODI has our very own Learning Month that we run in tandem, ahead of our annual summit.
Each year we focus on different topics. This year to coincide with the theme of Summit 2021, we’ll be looking at how we’ve all become ‘data people’ – more conscious than ever of the data we produce, use and share. Our three key areas of education will be: Building healthy open data ecosystems, Leading data transformation, and Data governance and ethics. All brought to you via a mix of training, webinars, and podcasts.
Our one-off programme has been created exclusively for Learning Month, and all of the training is available at a subsidised price. All the more reason to get stuck in – and get learning!
