Achieving more with open data at data.parliament.uk
The Open Data Institute has conducted research to understand the user need for Parliamentary data, and the possibilities that adopting an open approach can bring to data.parliament.uk.
Informed by desk-based reading, user interviews and analysis of tools built on Parliament data, the report finds that people who work with data from Parliament trust it to be objective and definitive. They consider Parliament to be uniquely placed to report and curate what happens there, and want it to focus on providing better data ahead of building more tools.
The report advises Parliament to create data models that represent its functions, populate these models and make them available as open data. Simultaneously, Parliament should continues to listen to feedback and deliver short-term improvements.
