- Small businesses looking to grow services and solutions using Open Data
- New businesses looking to develop an idea into a working prototype
- Specialist consultancies working on the integration of open data with other data sources to develop products and prototypes
- Those offering intellectual property advice to businesses with ideas incorporating open data.
Welcoming the scheme, the ODI’s Commercial Director, Stuart Coleman said:
“A substantial part of our mission is to catalyse economic growth by helping new businesses with open data ideas. It’s great news that the TSB is giving an extra cash boost to businesses and start-ups. The sorts of companies and individuals working with us are passionate and innovative but sometimes lack the resources to get started. It’s excellent that there is now an opportunity for more of the ideas we see being generated to progress to the next level”.
